Black Watch (1972 – present) Fred Olsen Cruises

Royal Viking Star entered service in 1972 for owners Royal Viking Cruises, a Norwegian company operating 5-star cruise ships. The company proved to be too small to be successful in the long run and was taken over by Norwegian Cruise Line in 1991. She was renamed Westward. Three years later she was transferred to subsidiary Royal Cruise Line (Greece) and sailed for them until 1996 as Star Odyssey. In 1991 Fred Olsen acquired her and she was very succesfull until 2020 being very popular with British passengers liking more intimate ships. Laid up in 2020 because of the Crona pandemic and sold to Miray International for use as an accommodation ship in Turkey.
