Island Venture was taken into service by Flagship Cruises in 1974. She joined he sister Sea Venture (built 1972). In 1974 already, she was sold toP&) subsidiary Princess Cruises along with her sister ship. They were renamed Island Princess and Pacific Princess. Both appeared in the 1970stelevision series The Love Boat. The Island Princess stayed with the Princess fleet until 1999, when she was sold to Hyundai Merchant Marine of South Korea. Renamed Hyundai Pungak she started bringing South Korean pilgrims to religious sites in North Korea. This venture was shortlived and she was quickly sold to Fiducia Shipping and renamed Platinum. This lasted for just a year and she was acquired in 2002 by Voyages of Discovery (part of the All Leisure Group). She was also operated by Cruise & Maritime Voyages during the following years as part of a joined venture of All Leisure and CMV. Due to financial problems of All Leisure, she was taken out of service in 2014 and sold for scrap shortly thereafter. She was beached in Alang in 2015.
