The ss Rotterdam V sailed almost her entire career for the Holland America Line at first as a transatlantic liner but later as a full-time cruise ship. She was sold to Premier Cruises in 1997 and renamed Rembrandt. In 2000 Premier went bankrupt and she was laid up in the Bahama’s. Since 2008 after full restauration in use as a hotel/ restaurant/ museum in her former homeport Rotterdam.
