Former passenger liner Ancerville built 1962 for Cie de Navigation Paquet sailing on the Africa run Marseilles- Dakar. Changed hands in 1970 to Nouvelles Cie de Paquebots from Marseilles. Sold again after three years of service to People’s Republic of China and placed in cruise service mainly on charter to Australian travel operator Burns Philip and sailing in Far Eastern and Australian waters. In 1983 she was retired from active service and rebuilt as an hotel and leisure centre in Shenzhen, China. As the area was further developed, the ship became completely land-locked. She has been closed due to a fire for several years but has been restored and is open again to the public.
